THIS SERIES will allow you to escape, at least for a while, from the turmoil of civilization and forget yourself in the breathtaking landscapes and beauty of European nature. We will show mountain people who resist civilization’s madness and uphold their traditions – they are the so-called last highlanders. The series focuses on the age-old symbiosis of man and nature and how the Highlanders’ characteristic traits of strength, courage, skill and their love of freedom have helped them adapt to these changes…and how, despite these changes, their lives have retained their distinct Highland flavour. In each episode, we’ll take a look at a different country in Europe and tell the story through the prism of four different mountain people.
